MELBOURNE - Mar 18/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over Tasmania will move slowly eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea on Monday. A trough will move across South Australia on Tuesday, reaching the Northeast Pastoral district on Wednesday. A cold front will move across southern parts of the State during Thursday and Friday. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine. Cloud increasing in the west. Mild to warm with moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Monday 19 MarchFine apart from patchy rain extending over the far west. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northeast to northerly winds.Tuesday 20 MarchPatchy rain extending east to reach about Keith to Coober Pedy by late evening, increasing to areas of rain over Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island later in the day. Generally hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder, fresh to strong southerly change extending from the west.Wednesday 21 MarchAreas of rain easing during the morning and extending into the Northeast Pastoral district before clearing the state during the afternoon. Fine immediately following the rain, but isolated showers may develop about the southern agricultural area and West Coast district later in the day. Mild with moderating southwest to southerly winds extending throughout during the day, stronger about the coasts in the morning.Thursday 22 March The chance of showers about agricultural area and the West Coast district. Cool to mild with moderate southwest to southerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon until midnight Thursday are expected to be 5 to 20 mm over southern agricultural areas with falls of generally less than 5 mm elsewhere. Friday until SundayIsolated showers about the agricultural area and West Coast district, gradually easing and contracting to the coasts during the weekend.
