Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over northeastern New South Wales is moving further northeast and weakening as a high pressure system south of the Bight is moving east extending a ridge along the south and central coasts. The high will move over the southern Tasman Sea by early Sunday strengthening the ridge on the north coast. Another trough is expected to move through the state during Wednesday as the high moves towards New Zealand and the ridge weakens.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayShowers or rain areas and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast contracting further northeast. The chance of showers on the southern half of the coast and on adjacent ranges. South to southeasterly change extending throughout.Sunday 18 MarchIsolated showers coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered near the north coast. Mostly sunny west of Divide. South to southeasterly winds.Monday 19 MarchIsolated showers coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered near the north coast. Mostly sunny west of Divide. East to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 20 MarchMostly sunny west of Divide and partly cloudy on the far south coast. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered near the north coast. . Southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 21 MarchIsolated showers in the southeast and on the northern half of the coast. Partly cloudy remainder. Northwest to northeast winds turning south to southwesterly in the west and southeast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Sunday.Product IDN10031
