MELBOURNE - Mar 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the Bight will move slowly southeastwards to be near Tasmania on Sunday and over the Tasman Sea on Monday. A trough will move across the state on Tuesday, reaching the Northeast Pastoral district on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from patchy rain and possible thunderstorms clearing from the far northeast. Mild with moderate to fresh south to southeast winds.Sunday 18 MarchSome possible morning fog in the southeast and the chance of patchy rain developing over the far northwest. Otherwise, fine and generally warm with southeast to northeasterly winds, becoming hot to very hot in the west with freshening northerly winds.Monday 19 MarchFine apart from patchy rain extending over the far west. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northeast to northerly winds.Tuesday 20 MarchAreas rain extending east to reach about Renmark to Coober Pedy by late evening. Generally hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder, fresh southerly change extending from the west.Wednesday 21 March Areas rain easing to showers and extending into the Northeast Pastoral before clearing during the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers following the rain about the agricultural area and West Coast district. Mild with moderating southwest to southerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon until midnight Wednesday are expected to be 5 to 20 mm over agricultural areas with falls of generally less than 5 mm elsewhere. Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers about agricultural area and the West Coast district, easing later in the period.
