Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 16/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Bight will move slowly southeastwards to be near Tasmania on Sunday and over the Tasman Sea on Monday. A trough will move across the state on Tuesday, reaching the Northeast Pastoral district on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayThe chance of isolated early morning showers about Kangaroo Island, far southern coasts of Fleurieu Peninsula and the Lower South East coast. Patchy rain and possible thunderstorms in the far northeast. Fine elsewhere apart from isolated early fog patches in the southeast. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Sunday 18 MarchThe Chance of patchy rain over the far northwest. Fine and warm to hot elsewhere apart from some possible morning fog in the southeast. Becoming hot to very hot in the west with freshening northerly winds.Monday 19 MarchPatchy rain in the far west otherwise fine. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh east to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 20 MarchPatchy rain extending east to reach about Renmark to Coober Pedy late evening. Generally hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder southerly change extending from the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 1 to 5 mm with local falls of 5 to 10 mm possible in rain and thunderstorms.Wednesday until FridayPatchy rain will ease to showers during Wednesday and extend into the Northeast Pastoral before clearing most parts except coastal areas by evening. Possible isolated showers about the agricultural and West Coast areas during Thursday and Friday otherwise fine. Generally mild to warm with moderate south to southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
