Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 12/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will remain over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday as a low pressure trough crosses the Bight. The trough will deepen on Wednesday as it approaches Victoria with an associated low pressure system developing south of the Bight. The trough will move across Victoria on Thursday as the low pressure system slips south of Tasmania. The next high will move into the Bight on Friday and extend a ridge over Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine. Light winds and moderate to fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 13 MarchLocal morning fogs in the south, then a mostly sunny day apart from the chance of afternoon showers about the northeast ranges. High cloud increasing in the southwest later. A warm day with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds and afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Fire Danger -  Very High in the southwest.Wednesday 14 MarchFine at first. Isolated showers developing near the ranges and over the Northern Country in the afternoon with isolated thunderstorms over the northeast. Rain areas developing in the far west at night. A warm day with a freshening northerly wind.Thursday 15 MarchRain and isolated thunderstorms developing in most districts but easing to isolated showers in the west later. Mostly fine in East Gippsland with isolated showers and thunderstorms later. A mild to warm and cloudy day with a fresh to strong northerly wind shifting westerly in the west later.Friday 16 MarchRain and isolated thunderstorms contracting to the east by the afternoon and clearing later. Isolated showers to follow on and south of the ranges. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
