MELBOURNE - Mar 12/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak low pressure trough near the central New South Wales coast is weakening as a high strengthens over the Tasman Sea. This high will be the dominant synoptic feature during the next few days as it moves slowly east, maintaining a relatively dry and stable air mass over the region. The next trough is expected to approach the state's west late in the week, bringing a little rain with it. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers near the coast and adjacent ranges, mostly clearing this evening. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Tuesday 13 MarchIsolated showers about the north coast, and along the ranges, western slopes and central north during the afternoon. Chance of afternoon thunderstorms about the western slopes of the central ranges and central north. Fine elsewhere. Mainly north to northeasterly winds, freshening on the south coast.Wednesday 14 MarchIsolated showers along the northern coast and adjacent ranges, and about the southeastern third of the state. Fine elsewhere. North to northeasterly winds.Thursday 15 MarchIsolated showers in the northeast, south and on the central ranges. Fine elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds, turning southwesterly in the far west.Friday 16 MarchShowers in most districts, mostly southern and central parts.
