Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system off the southern NSW coast will move southeastwards overnight and tomorrow. The top end of a cold front crossing the Southern Ocean will pass through Bass Strait this evening and overnight, just clipping coastal Victoria. The next high pressure system will remain south of Adelaide over the weekend and will extend a ridge eastwards across Victoria. The high will pass just south of Victoria during Monday and will be centred over the Tasman Sea Tuesday as the next low pressure trough crosses the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over the southeast this evening and also extending from the southwest coast. Clear over the northern plains. Moderate southwesterly winds.Saturday 10 MarchIsolated showers on and south of the ranges, mostly clearing during the morning, then a cool to mild and afternoon to follow with sunny breaks. A mild to warm and sunny day north of the divide. Moderate southerly winds, fresh at times along the coastFire Danger -  Low to moderate.Sunday 11 MarchFine apart from isolated showers over south Gippsland and local morning fogs inland. Warm and sunny over the north. Cool to mild and becoming sunny in the south. Light southwest to southerly winds, freshening about the coast during the afternoon.Monday 12 MarchFine apart from isolated coastal showers and local morning fogs. Mild to warm and mostly sunny with light winds and fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 13 MarchLocal morning fog in Gippsland, then a fine and mostly sunny day. A warm day with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds and afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Saturday.Product IDV10310
