MELBOURNE - Mar 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A deepening low over the central Tasman Sea is expected to move towards the southern NSW coast early today as a strong high pressure ridge persists over the Southern Tasman. The low will move slowly to the south late today and Friday then away to the east over the weekend as a high pressure ridge develops over NSW. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayRain along the southern coast and adjacent ranges, heavy at times but easing later. Isolated showers about the northern coast and along the ranges and possibly about the western slopes. Fine and mostly sunny further west. Southeast to southwesterly winds, strong to possibly gale force about the southern coast and ranges. Dangerous surf conditions along the central coast, damaging surf along the southern coast.Friday 9 MarchShowers in the southeast, mainly near the Victorian border, easing through the day. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Mainly southeast to southwesterly winds.Saturday 10 MarchThe chance of showers near the coast and adjacent ranges in the north, otherwise partly cloudy. South to southwest winds.Sunday 11 MarchThe chance of showers near the coast and adjacent ranges in the north, otherwise partly cloudy.
