Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of Tasmania is moving east maintaining a ridge to northwestern New South Wales and a low pressure trough over the western Tasman Sea is deepening with a low developing off the central coast tonight or early Thursday. The low will move south-southwest along the coast on Thursday then east-southeast during Friday and weaken. Another high move towards Tasmania during the weekend, then across the southern Tasman Sea early next week, maintaining a ridge over most of the state.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMostly sunny in the west. Isolated showers with the chance of thunderstorms elsewhere tending scattered on the eastern ranges with rain periods developing about central and south coasts, heavy at times. South to southeasterly winds, fresh and gusty about the central and southern coast and ranges.Thursday 8 MarchIsolated showers tending scattered near the coast with rain areas on the south and central coasts possibly heavy at first. Partly cloudy in the western and central parts. Mainly southeast to southwesterly winds, gusty about the central and southern coast and ranges. Dangerous surf conditions along the central coast, damaging surf along the southern coast.Friday 9 MarchShowers in the southeast, mainly near the Victorian border, easing through the day. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Mainly southeast to southwesterly winds.Saturday 10 MarchThe chance of showers near the coast and adjacent ranges in the north, otherwise partly cloudy. South to southwest winds.Sunday 11 MarchThe chance of showers near the coast and adjacent ranges in the north, otherwise partly cloudy.
