MELBOURNE - Mar 6/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of Tasmania is moving east maintaining a ridge to northwestern New South Wales and a low pressure trough over the western Tasman Sea is deepening with a low developing off the central coast tonight or early Thursday. The low will move east-southeast during Friday and weaken as another high moves south of the Bight extending a ridge to the north coast. The high is expected to move over the southern Tasman Sea on Monday and then it is expected to move slowly east. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMostly sunny in the west. Isolated showers with the chance of thunderstorms elsewhere tending scattered on the eastern ranges with rain periods developing about central and south coasts, heavy at times later in the day. South to southeasterly winds becoming fresh and gusty about the central and southern coast and ranges later in the day.Thursday 8 MarchIsolated showers tending scattered near the coast with rain areas on the south and central coasts possibly heavy at first. Partly cloudy in the western and central parts. Mainly southeast to southwesterly winds, gusty about the central and southern coast and ranges. Dangerous surf conditions along the central and southern coasts.Friday 9 MarchShowers in the southeast, mainly near the Victorian border, easing through the day. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Mainly southeast to southwesterly winds.Saturday 10 MarchThe chance of showers near the coast, otherwise partly cloudy.
