Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 6/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system west of Tasmania is extending a ridge into New South Wales. A trough over the Tasman Sea will deepen during Wednesday and a low developing within it is expected to move towards the central New South Wales coast early Thursday, assisted by an upper-level trough to the west. The low is forecast to weaken and move to the southeast later Thursday, as a ridge again becomes the main feature in the region.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers in the northeast, easing. The chance of showers about the central and southern coasts and adjacent ranges, with possible late thunder in the far southeast. Fine elsewhere. South to southeast winds.Wednesday 7 MarchCoastal showers, increasing to rain periods about central and southern parts, becoming heavy at times with possible local thunder. Isolated showers and possible afternoon thunderstorms on the ranges and western slopes. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds, increasing about the central and southern coast and ranges later in the day.Thursday 8 MarchScattered showers over the central and southern parts of the coast, possibly heavy at first. Isolated showers about the ranges and in the northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Mainly southeast to southwesterly winds, strong and gusty about the central and southern coast and ranges. Dangerous surf conditions along the central and southern coasts.Friday 9 MarchShowers in the southeast, mainly near the Victorian border, easing through the day. Fine elsewhere. Mainly southeast to southwesterly winds.Saturday 10 MarchThe chance of showers near the coast, otherwise fine.
