Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough is moving slowly east across the state linked to a low near Tasmania while another trough deepens off the far North Coast. The low will move across the southern Tasman Sea on Monday with the associated trough moving along the coast and stalling in the far north. A high will be moving from the Bight towards Tasmania on Tuesday with a ridge strengthening across most of the state while a trough lingers over the inland north. A low may develop off the North Coast on Wednesday and move towards the South Coast on Thursday, but the exact position of the low and its potential impact on coastal areas are uncertain at this stage.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers in the northeast, becoming scattered in the far northeast. Areas of rain moving across the northwestern and central parts with locally heavy falls. The chance of thunderstorms in the northwest. Dry in the southwest and over parts of northeast. Northwest to northeast winds turning south to southwesterly in the west and southeast.Monday 5 MarchRain and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast with possible heavy falls over Upper Hunter and adjacent districts. Chance late showers over the parts of the central and southern coast and adjacent ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds extending throughout.Tuesday 6 MarchRain in the northeast, tending widespread on the North Coast and adjacent ranges and slopes. Isolated showers developing later in the day on the central and southern coast and ranges tending scattered along the coastline and across the southern ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southerly winds.Wednesday 7 MarchScattered coastal showers and isolated showers on the ranges and northern slopes. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds, possibly strengthening on the central and southern coast and ranges later in the day.Thursday 8 MarchScattered showers over the central and southern parts of the coast, isolated showers on the ranges and in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. East to southeasterly winds, possibly fresh to strong on the central and southern coast and ranges later in the day.
