Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving low pressure trough extends from northwestern to southeastern Australia. During Sunday a low will develop within the trough south of New South Wales in response to approaching an upper-level system. The low and the trough will move over the western Tasman Sea Sunday night as a high pressure system moves south of the Bight extending a ridge to the north coast. The high is expected to move slowly east over the next few days maintaining the ridge to the northwest.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers in the northeast, mainly on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Areas of rain over the remainder tending widespread in the southeastern and northwestern inland with locally heavy falls. Rain clearing from the southwest during the day. The chance of thunderstorms in the northwest. Northwest to northeast winds turning south to southwesterly in the west and southeast.Monday 5 MarchRain and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers over the southern half of the coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds extending throughout.Tuesday 6 MarchIsolated showers on the coast and ranges tending scattered in the far north and clearing showers on the northwest slopes. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southerly winds.Wednesday 7 MarchScattered coastal showers and isolated showers on the ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
