Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 2/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of Victoria will continue to move eastwards to be located over the Tasman Sea on Sunday. Areas of rain and isolated thunderstorms will finally clear from the east of the State by Sunday night as a trough near the eastern border forms into a low before move southeastwards. This will allow another high to become established south of the Bight early next week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayAreas of rain over the Northeast Pastoral extending southwards over districts east of the Mount Lofty Ranges early morning. Possible locally heavy falls northeast of about Broken Hill to Oodnadatta. Isolated thunderstorms in the far northeast. Rain contracting eastwards in the evening. Isolated showers at times over the remainder, but fine over the Northwest Pastoral northwest of about Woomera. Isolated thunderstorms developing near southern and western coasts. Mild to warm with mainly moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds, tending east to northeast over eastern districts.Sunday 4 MarchAreas of rain and possible isolated thunderstorms in the far northeast. Rain becoming patchy in the evening. Isolated showers over the agricultural area and western coasts. Early fog patches over the agricultural area, Flinders and Northeast Pastoral districts. Fine over the remainder. Mild to warm throughout with moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds.Monday 5 MarchPatchy rain in the far northeast clearing by late afternoon. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area. Fine over the remainder. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 6 MarchFine apart from isolated showers near southern coasts. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh southeast to east winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 30 to 80 mm northeast of about Broken Hill to Leigh Creek to Oodnadatta. 10 to 20 mm is expected over districts east of the Mount Lofty Ranges, with up to 5 mm expected over the remainder..Wednesday until FridayFine and mild to warm. Mainly moderate southeast to northeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
