MELBOURNE - Mar 1/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A slow-moving low pressure trough extends from northwestern to southeastern Australia bringing rainband of tropical origin across northwestern and southern New South Wales. During Sunday a low will develop within the trough over the southeast of the state. The low and the trough are expected to move over the Tasman Sea Sunday night as a high pressure system moves south of the Bight extending a ridge to the north coast. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPartly cloudy in the northeast. Areas of rain elsewhere, with locally heavy falls across most southern and central districts. The chance of thunderstorms in the northwestern and central parts. South to southwesterly winds in the south, and northeast to northwesterly winds in the north.Friday 2 MarchAreas of rain throughout most of the state, with locally heavy falls in the central and northwestern parts. Rain tending patchy in the far south and in the far northeast. North west winds in the northeast, south to southwest throughout remainder.Saturday 3 MarchAreas of rain throughout most of the state, with locally heavy falls in the southeastern and central parts. Rain tending patchy in the far southwest and in the far northeast. North to northwesterly winds in the west, and east to northeasterly winds in the east.Sunday 4 MarchPartly cloudy in the northeast. Areas of rain remainder, with possible locally heavy falls in the southeastern and northwestern parts. Rain tending patchy in the far southwest and on the central coast and ranges. A south to southwest change extending across southern and western districts. Northwest to northeast winds turning south to southwesterly in the west and southeast.Monday 5 MarchPartly cloudy in the southwest. Rain areas in the with possible thunderstorms northeast. Isolated showers elsewhere.
