MELBOURNE - Feb 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A slow moving cloud band has formed over the western and southern parts of NSW. The band feeds tropical moisture into a deepening surface trough that extends into NSW from the central parts of the continent. This influx of moisture combined with an upper level disturbance will continue to generate widespread rain with local heavy falls across the southwestern half of the state during next few days. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayCloudy. Rain and isolated thunderstorms over the southwestern half of the state with heavy falls possible. Fine in the northeast apart from isolated showers and chance of thunderstorms on the northwest slopes mostly. Northwest to northeast winds in the north, south to southeasterly winds in the south.Thursday 1 MarchIsolated showers in far southwest and far northeast. Areas of rain throughout the remainder with heavy falls possible. South to southwesterly winds in the southwest, northeast to northwesterly throughout remainder.Friday 2 MarchScattered showers and areas of rain throughout most of the state, with locally heavy falls through central parts. Showers tending isolated in the southwest in the evening. North west winds in the north east, south to southwest throughout remainder.Saturday 3 MarchIsolated showers in the far southwest and northeast, with scattered showers and areas of rain throughout most of the remainder.
