Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 26/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea will remain near stationary for the remainder of the weekend. A trough of low pressure near Ceduna will move slowly eastwards over remaining parts during Sunday or early Monday. Another high pressure system will develop in the wake of the trough and be positioned to the south of the Bight on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and thunderstorms. Showers increasing to scattered after midday over Eyre Peninsula and the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Hot with moderate northerly winds, fresh at times, ahead of a milder, moderate to fresh southerly change extending from the west to reach a line Cleve to Adelaide late evening.Monday 27 FebruaryScattered showers, apart from in the far northeast, contracting to northeast of Tarcoola to Port Lincoln during the morning and north of Woomera to Renmark during the evening. Isolated thunderstorms northeast of Coober Pedy to Renmark. Hot with moderate northerly winds in the east, ahead of a milder moderate to fresh southerly change, reaching a line Yunta to Marla late evening.Tuesday 28 FebruaryAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms over the Pastoral, Flinders and western parts of the West Coast, with locally heavy falls possible. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate south to southeast winds, fresh about the coasts, tending light northeasterly in the far northeast.Wednesday 29 FebruaryAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms over the Pastoral and Flinders districts, with possible local heavy falls. Fine over the remainder apart from possible isolated showers about southern and far western coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning until midnight Wednesday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to 15 to 30 mm over the northern agricultural areas and with thunderstorms. Falls of 30 to 60 mm are expected over the Pastoral and Flinders districts with local falls of 60 to 100mm possible.Thursday until SaturdayAreas of rain in the north and east contracting northeast and clearing during Thursday. Possible light showers about southern coasts Thursday and Friday morning. Isolated showers developing in the far west of the state on Friday gradually extending east on Saturday. Generally mild with moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds, easing and tending east to southeasterly towards the end of the periodThe next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
