Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 24/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the western Tasman Sea extends a ridge into New South Wales, while a trough lies off the northern coast. This high is forecast to remain the dominant synoptic feature through the next few days, moving only very slowly to the east while drawing warm, humid air across the state. Meanwhile, the presence of an upper-level system is expected to bring a return to unsettled conditions in most areas by the end of the weekend. On Monday the approach of a trough from the west is forecast to bring further rain to southern and central districts, shifting to the northeast later in the week as the high over the Tasman Sea weakens and moves away.
