Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 24/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea will remain near stationary for the next few days. A trough of low pressure will reach the western border late this evening and then move slowly northeastwards, reaching Fowlers Bay late Saturday evening, a line Port Lincoln to Tarcoola late Sunday evening and a line Yunta to Marla late Monday evening.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and the chance of isolated thunderstorms over the far northeast interior. Fine elsewhere. Hot with moderate to fresh north to northeast winds and light to moderate afternoon coastal sea breezes.Saturday 25 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms north of Roxby Downs and east of Ernabella, tending scattered in the afternoon in the far northeast. Possible isolated afternoon and evening showers over the remainder of the Northwest Pastoral and the West Coast district. Hot with moderate to fresh north to northeast winds ahead of a moderate southerly change moving over the far southwest.Sunday 26 FebruaryIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms north of about Port Augusta, tending scattered in the far northeast during the afternoon. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the west, with possible isolated showers extending across the southeast during the afternoon. Hot with moderate northerly winds, fresh at times, ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly change reaching a line Port Lincoln to Tarcoola late evening.Monday 27 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms northeast of Broken Hill to Oodnadatta and isolated showers over the Nullarbor Plain. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms elsewhere, easing to isolated showers over the southern agricultural area later in the day. Hot with moderate northerly winds in the east, ahead of a milder moderate to fresh southerly change, reaching a line Yunta to Marla late evening.Tuesday 28 February
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Pastoral and Flinders districts, tending isolated in the far northeast. Isolated showers over the West Coast district, and in the morning over the northern agricultural area. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate south to southeast winds, fresh about the coasts, tending light northeasterly in the far northeast.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the agricultural area and West Coast district. 15 to 25 mm is expected over the Flinders and Pastoral districts,
with local falls of 25 to 45 mm over the Pastorals.
Wednesday until Friday
Areas of rain and isolated thunderstorms with local heavy falls over the Pastoral and Flinders districts.
Possible isolated showers about southern and far western coasts on Thursday morning.
