Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will consolidate over the Tasman Sea today and will remain stationary on Saturday as a low pressure trough moves into the Bight. The trough will enter southwest Victoria late Sunday afternoon, then will move slowly eastwards during Monday but will not clear far eastern Victoria until Tuesday afternoon.
Forecast for the rest of FridayEarly fog patches in the south then fine and sunny. Warm to hot inland with light winds tending northerly. Milder along the coastal fringe with seabreezes developing during the afternoon.Fire Danger -  Generally high to very highSaturday 25 FebruaryFine and mostly sunny. A warm to hot day with moderate to fresh northerly winds, although lighter in the east with local afternoon seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coast.Sunday 26 FebruaryIsolated showers extending to most districts late in the day with possible thunderstorms over the north and west. Warm to hot with fresh northerly winds.Monday 27 FebruaryShowers at first, but tending to areas of rain during the day. Isolated thunderstorms. Some heavy falls possible.
