Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 21/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge across Tasmania The high will gradually shift to the Tasman Sea during Thursday with the ridge moving over southern Victoria. The high will consolidate in the Tasman Sea on Friday and remain stationary on Saturday as a low pressure trough moves into the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated early showers about the southwest coast. Fine elsewhere apart from isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the northeast and Gippsland ranges. Mild near the coast, but warm inland with light to moderate east to southeast winds, freshening along the coast during the afternoon.Fire Danger -  Locally high.Thursday 23 FebruaryEarly fog in the south then fine and mostly sunny. Warm inland with light and variable winds. Milder along the coastal fringe with seabreezes developing during the afternoon.Friday 24 FebruaryEarly fog in the south then fine and mostly sunny. Warm inland with light and variable winds. Milder along the coastal fringe with seabreezes developing during the afternoon.Saturday 25 FebruaryWarm to hot day with isolated thunderstorms developing in the northwest later.
