MELBOURNE - Feb 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough stretches from northwestern New South Wales to the central coast with a weak low off the coast. The low and trough will move slowly east today as a high moves south of the Bight extending a ridge to the south coast. The low will move towards New Zealand tomorrow and Wednesday and the trough will stalls over the central north and weakens as the high moves over the southern Tasman Sea extending the ridge to the north coast. The high is expected to be slow-moving. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers and thunderstorms throughout tending scattered and possibly severe in the northeast. South to southwesterly change extends throughout.Tuesday 21 FebruaryCloudy periods in the far west. Isolated showers on the south coast and ranges. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere tending scattered in the northeast. Thunderstorms possibly severe on the far north coast and ranges. Southeast to southwest winds.Wednesday 22 FebruaryPartly cloudy in the far southwest. Isolated showers remainder, tending scattered in the northeast. The chance of thunderstorms inland. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 23 FebruaryIsolated showers in the north and about the central coast and ranges. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeastern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 24 FebruaryPartly cloudy in the southeast. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered on the north coast and ranges.
