Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high southwest of the Bight will continue to move slowly eastwards to be centred south of the Bight on Tuesday and over the Tasman Sea on Friday. An upper low will form over northern New South Wales on Thursday before moving into South Australia on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms north of about Roxby Downs to Broken Hill, contracting to northern Pastoral districts this evening. Slight chance of isolated light showers in the far southeast. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds. Moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes. Mild to warm.Tuesday 21 FebruaryPossible light morning showers about southern coasts. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms north of Coober Pedy, and on and east of the Flinders ranges in the afternoon. Mild about the coasts, grading to hot inland. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 22 FebruaryIsolated afternoon showers and possible thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts. Mild to warm in the south, hot inland.Thursday 23 February
Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the northeast. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds and afternoon sea breezes.
Friday 24 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral, extending southwards over the Flinders, Mid North and Riverland districts during the day. Generally hot with moderate to fresh northeasterly winds and light to moderate afternoon sea breezes.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 1 mm, increasing to 1-5 mm northeast of Coober Pedy to Renmark with possible local falls of 5-20 mm with thunderstorms in the northeast.
Saturday until MondayShowers and thunderstorms moving southeast over remaining central and eastern districts before clearing late in the weekend. A fresh southwesterly change moving over the State late in the period will result in isolated showers or patchy rain moving over the western and agricultural areas on Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
