MELBOURNE - Feb 19/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough stretches from the northwestern New South Wales to the far South Coast. Early next week could see this broad trough affecting most of inland and the northeast parts while a ridge builds gradually along the coast from the south. The ridge may dominate most of the state later next week as a weak trough lingers near the north coast. Forecast for the rest of MondayThe chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in all districts though more likely in the east and far south, and tending scattered and possibly severe in the northeast during the afternoon. Early fog patches in the east. Hot day in the northwest. Northeast to northwest winds in the north before a milder south to southwesterly change extends throughout.Tuesday 21 FebruaryIsolated showers in the eastern half, more likely over the ranges and coast and tending scattered in the northeast. The chance of thunderstorms over the central and northeastern parts. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to southwest winds.Wednesday 22 FebruaryPartly cloudy over the southwestern parts. The chance of showers remainder, more likely in the northeast and southeast. The chance of thunderstorms over the far northern inland. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 23 FebruaryPartly cloudy over the southwestern half apart from the chance of showers on the Alps. The chance of showers remainder, more likely in the northeast.
