Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 18/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure will move across the State on Sunday as the next high pressure system forms south of the Bight. The high will move slowly southeastwards on Monday and Tuesday and will direct a southeast to southerly airflow across Victoria. On Wednesday, the high will pass to the south of Tasmania.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayDrizzle patches over Gippsland. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the eastern ranges this evening. Fine elsewhere.Sunday 19 FebruaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms, more widespread about the eastern ranges during the afternoon. Mild near the coast, but warmer inland. Light winds at first, but moderate southwest to southerly winds gradually extending from the west.Fire Danger -  Locally highMonday 20 FebruaryScattered showers or drizzle over southern and mountain areas, but fine and mostly sunny over the northern plains. Mild near the coast but warmer inland with moderate to locally fresh southerly winds.Tuesday 21 FebruaryIsolated showers in the south contracting eastwards during the afternoon. Fine and mostly sunny over the north. Mild near the coast but warmer inland with moderate to locally fresh southerly winds.Wednesday 22 FebruaryFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms over the northeast and local morning showers about the central coast.
