Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 18/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough lies in the southwest while another weak trough affects the central and northeastern parts of the state. On Sunday the the western trough will reach the far southeast as the eastern trough weakens near the coast. Early next week could see a broad trough affecting most of inland and the far northeast parts while a ridge builds gradually along the coast from the south.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayMostly sunny in the southwest and for most of the far northeast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the remainder tending scattered on the southern and central ranges and slopes. Southeast to northeast winds tending northwest to southwest over the inland.Sunday 19 FebruaryMostly sunny in the far west. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere tending scattered in the southeast and on the central ranges. Northwest to northeast winds tending southwesterly in the southwest.Monday 20 FebruaryPartly cloudy in the southwest. The chance of showers in the far northwest. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, more likely on the north and central coast and ranges. North to northwest winds ahead of a milder south to southwesterly change.Tuesday 21 FebruaryIsolated showers in the eastern half and the chance of showers in the far northwest. The chance of thunderstorms over the central and northeastern parts. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to southwest winds.Wednesday 22 FebruaryPartly cloudy over the southwestern, central and northeastern inland parts. Isolated showers in the northeast and southeast.
