MELBOURNE - Feb 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad trough lies over NSW while a weak high covers Tasmania and southwestern Tasman Sea. The high will become slow moving in the Tasman Sea, extending a ridge to the north coast, as the trough weakens today. Another trough is expected to intensify over the west of the state during Wednesday and Thursday then deepen on Friday and Saturday as it moves slowly eastwards. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers on the coast and adjacent with the chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. East to southeast winds, tending northeasterly on the South Coast later in the day.Wednesday 15 FebruaryIsolated showers in the northeast and on the southern half of the coast. Possible isolated thunderstorms in the northeastern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 16 FebruaryIsolated showers apart from in the far west and on the south and central coasts. Showers tending scattered in the far northeast. East to northeasterly winds.Friday 17 FebruaryIsolated showers almost throughout. Dry and partly cloudy in the northeastern inland.
