MELBOURNE - Feb 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system near Tasmania is moving slowly eastwards into the Tasman sea. A trough in the west will move move slowly eastwards as an associated low develops over the Bight. The trough and low will move to the east of the State by early Thursday, and a new high will develop well to the south of the Bight, where it will remain on Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayCloud increasing from the west with isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far west, extending eastwards to reach Eyre Peninsula in the afternoon or evening. Warm near southern coasts, hot over the remainder. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, tending to fresh northerly over western districts, ahead of a moderate to fresh southwesterly change extending from the west to reach Eyre Peninsula late afternoon or evening.Wednesday 15 FebruaryIsolated showers and the chance of thunder south of about Tarcoola to Leigh Creek to Renmark. Mild near western coasts, generally warm to hot over the remainder. Light to moderate northeast to north winds, fresh over the agricultural area, ahead of a moderate to fresh west to southwest change extending from the west.Thursday 16 FebruaryIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and near Spencer Gulf coasts, clearing in the afternoon. Mild near the coasts grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Friday 17 FebruaryFine apart from isolated light showers in the morning near the Lower South East Coast. Mild to warm over the agricultural area grading to hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, becoming fresh southeast to south near the coast in the afternoon and evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 2 mm.Saturday until MondayFine over the weekend. The chance of isolated showers over the northern agricultural area and districts further north on Monday. Mild to warm over the agricultural area grading to hot to very hot in the north and west. Chiefly light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.
