MELBOURNE - Feb 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak high pressure ridge extends from west of Tasmania to the southeast of Tasmania. A broad trough lies over NSW. The high will move to the east of Tasmania by Tuesday, extending a ridge to the north coast, as the trough weakens and moves westwards. The trough is expected to intensify over the west of the state during Wednesday and Thursday then deepen on Friday and Saturday as it moves slowly eastwards. Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers and thunderstorms in the east, tending more isolated on the western slopes. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest winds west of the ranges, southeast winds along the coast.Tuesday 14 FebruaryIsolated showers on the coast and ranges tending scattered on the far north coast with possible isolated thunderstorms. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast winds.Wednesday 15 FebruaryIsolated showers in the northeast and on the southern half of the coast. Possible isolated thunderstorms in the northeastern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 16 FebruaryIsolated showers apart from in the far west and on the south and central coasts. Showers tending scattered in the far northeast. East to northeasterly winds.Friday 17 FebruaryIsolated showers almost throughout. Dry and partly cloudy in the northeastern inland.
