MELBOURNE - Feb 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1027 hPa well south of the Bight will move very slowly eastwards over the next few days ahead of a trough developing over the far west of the State early next week. An upper level disturbance near Woomera at 5 am will move eastwards to be centred over the northwest of NSW this afternoon, which will deepen a trough over the eastern states. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, west coast and south of the pastoral districts, contracting to the southern agricultural area in the evening. Possible morning thunderstorms over the Flinders and south of the Northeast Pastoral. Showers becoming scattered with isolated thunderstorms over eastern districts south of about Lameroo, then scattered showers extending to Kangaroo Island and southern Fleurieu Peninsula in the evening. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds, strong at times about southern coasts.Saturday 11 FebruaryIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered during the morning over Kangaroo Island, southern Yorke Peninsula and the east coast of Eyre Peninsula. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild in south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds.Sunday 12 FebruaryIsolated showers south of about Adelaide, clearing by evening. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Mainly moderate to fresh south to southeast winds.Monday 13 FebruaryFine and mostly sunny. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, fresh at times in the west, and fresh sea breezes. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning until midnight Monday are expected to be 1-2 mm over the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral districts, increasing to 2-5 mm about the southern coasts and ranges, with local falls of 5 to 10 mm about southern Fleurieu Peninsula and the Lower South East.Tuesday until ThursdayFine apart from possible isolated showers developing about the eastern border area, north of Broken Hill on Thursday. Temperatures rising ahead of a trough in the west slowly moving east to be over the Northeast Pastoral on Thursday.
