Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 8/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over inland New South Wales is expected to deepen during Thursday and Friday as a high pressure system south of Bight extends a ridge towards the Tasman Sea. On Friday another trough is expected to develop just off the coast, with a low possibly developing near the south coast during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine and mostly sunny in the far west. Showers over the remainder, tending scattered in southern and central parts before increasing to rain periods in the southeast with locally heavy falls developing at night. Afternoon and evening thunderstorms over the eastern inland. Southeast to northeast winds in east. South to southwest winds in the west.Friday 10 FebruaryRain on the south coast and ranges, locally heavy. Fine in the far northwest. Showers elsewhere, tending scattered in the eastern half. The chance of thunderstorms over the eastern inland. South to southwest winds in the west. Southeast to northeast winds in the east.Saturday 11 FebruaryFine in the far west. Showers elsewhere, tending widespread in the southeast but clearing from the west. South to southwesterly in the west. East to northeast winds in the east.Sunday 12 FebruaryIsolated showers in the east, tending scattered in the southeast. Fine in the west. Mainly light and variable winds, becoming southerly on the south coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDN10031
