Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 8/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high well south of Western Australia is directing a cool southwest to southeast airstream over the State. The high will move slowly eastwards to be centred well south of the Bight on Friday and Saturday as a trough of low pressure develops over Victoria. The high move over Tasmania early next week as a new trough develops over the west of the State.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers extending across the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, except for the eastern districts. Possible thunderstorms over Eyre Peninsula and the Flinders during the afternoon and evening. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, freshening in the afternoon.Friday 10 FebruaryIsolated showers chiefly over the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral districts. Possible thunderstorms over the Flinders and southern parts of the Northeast Pastoral and also the Lower South East. Fine over the remainder. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Saturday 11 FebruaryIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered at times over Kangaroo Island and about southern coasts. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild in south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds.Sunday 12 FebruaryIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to the southern coasts by evening. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning until midnight Sunday are expected to be 1-2 mm over the agricultural areas and southern parts of the pastoral districts,increasing to 2-5 mm about the southern coasts and ranges, possible localised falls of 5 to 10 mm about southern coasts of Eyre and Yorke Peninsula.Monday until WednesdayFine and mostly sunny with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds and fresh sea breezes. Winds becoming moderate to fresh northerly later in the period ahead of a southerly change moving across western parts of the State. Mild to warm initially then warm to hot later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
