Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 8/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure ridge will lie to the south of Victoria during Wednesday with a low pressure trough over eastern Victoria. An upper level trough will move over the State on Friday before a low pressure system develops to the east of Victoria on Saturday. On Sunday the low will drift eastwards and a high pressure system will move to the southeast of Tasmania.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine apart from isolated showers over the far eastern ranges. Light to moderate southerly winds.Thursday 9 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the east. Fine elsewhere after isolated morning showers or drizzle near the Otway Ranges. A mild and partly cloudy day with light winds in the north tending moderate to fresh south to southeasterly in the south.Fire Danger -  Low to Moderate reaching High in the west.Friday 10 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon and tending more widespread over eastern districts. A mild day with moderate east to southeast winds, fresh to strong near the coast but lighter over the northeast.Saturday 11 FebruaryRain in Gippsland. Scattered showers elsewhere becoming isolated in the west. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the northeast. A mild day with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, fresh to strong near the coast but lighter over the northeast.Sunday 12 FebruaryScattered showers in the east with isolated showers in the west.
