Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time
Flood Warnings are current for various rivers and
streams.

Weather Situation
A surface trough lies over the state's southeast, and an upper level trough
lies over Queensland's interior.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday
Mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms over most eastern
districts of the state, more widespread about the southeast, central and far
northern districts. Fine over the interior. Light to moderate SW to SE winds
over most of the state, fresh at times about the southeast coast.
Forecast for Thursday
The upper level trough will weaken and move seawards, resulting in only
isolated showers about the southeast districts, the Central Highlands and
Coalfields, and the central coast region.  Mainly isolated showers and storms
about the Peninsula district, and fine over the remainder of the state.
Forecast for Friday
A new upper level trough will move into Queensland, causing showers and
storms over most of the eastern districts.  Mainly fine over the southeast
district except for some isolated showers about the coast.  Fine over the
remainder of the state.
Forecast for Saturday
An upper level trough should remain over the state's interior, generating
further showers and storms over the eastern districts.   Remaining fine over the
remainder of the state.
Outlook for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday
A weak upper trough should remain over the state's interior, continuing to
generate showers and storms over most eastern districts. Remaining fine over the
remainder of the state.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:10 pm EST
Wednesday.
