MELBOURNE - Feb 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high southwest of Western Australia is directing a cool southwest to southeast airstream over the State. The high will move slowly eastwards to be centred well south of the Bight on Friday and Saturday as a trough of low pressure develops over Victoria. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated light showers about the coasts and southern ranges. Fine over the remainder. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 9 FebruaryIsolated showers extending across the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, except for near the eastern border. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, freshening in the afternoon.Friday 10 FebruaryIsolated showers chiefly over the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral districts. Fine further north. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Saturday 11 FebruaryIsolated showers over the agricultural area. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild in south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning until midnight Saturday are expected to be 1-2 mm over the agricultural areas and southern parts of the pastoral districts, reaching 2-5 mm about the southern coasts and ranges.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to the southeast coasts on Monday then clearing on Tuesday. Cool to mild generally then becoming warmer late in the period.
