Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough lies over northeastern New South Wales. The trough will deepen and move further west and southwards Wednesday to Friday as a high pressure system moves south of Bight extending a ridge to the north coast. Another trough is expected to form off the coast during this period. On Saturday a low could form to the east of the southern coast.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers in the east, locally scattered in the northeast with thunderstorms. South to southeast winds.Wednesday 8 FebruaryShowers over the eastern half of the state, tending scattered in the northeast and about the central inland parts during the afternoon. Thunderstorms developing in the northeast and on the slopes and plains west of the divide. Sunny in the west. South to southeast winds. Sunny in the west.Thursday 9 FebruaryMostly sunny in the far west. Showers over the remainder, tending scattered about the southeast and southern and central inland. Thunderstorms possible west of the Divide. Southeast to northeast winds in east. Southeast to southwest winds in the southwest.Friday 10 FebruaryIsolated showers in the west, tending fine in the far northwest. Rain about the southern coast and ranges, possibly heavy at times and with the chance of local thunder. Isolated showers along the northern half of the coast. Scattered showers and thunderstorms over the remainder. Northwest to northeast winds in east. South to southwest winds in the west.Saturday 11 FebruaryShowers over eastern parts of the state tending widespread along the South Coast and adjacent east ranges and more isolated about the western plains. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeast winds in the far southeast. West to southwest winds elsewhere.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Wednesday.Product IDN10031
