MELBOURNE - Feb 6/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low south of Tasmania extends a front northwards along the New South Wales coast, while a trough lies over the northeast of the state. A slow-moving high near Western Australia extends a ridge to the east. The high is expected to become centred in the Bight around Friday. The trough over the northeast is expected to persist over the state, gradually deepening towards the end of the week. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over parts of the northeast. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.Tuesday 7 FebruarySunny in the west. Isolated showers in the east, becoming more scattered about the northern ranges in the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms developing over the northern and central ranges and slopes. South to southeast winds.Wednesday 8 FebruaryIsolated showers in the east and central parts of the state, tending scattered about the northern ranges. Isolated thunderstorms over the northeastern inland. Sunny in the west. South to southeast winds.Thursday 9 FebruaryFine and mostly sunny in the west. Isolated showers in the east and central inland parts of the state. Isolated thunderstorms through the central inland parts of the state. East to northeast winds in the northeast. Southeast to southwest winds in the southwest.Friday 10 FebruaryMostly sunny in the northwest. Showers over the remainder, most likely about the southeast and over the central inland and with the chance of thunderstorms west of the divide. Northwest to northeast winds in the east.
