MELBOURNE - Feb 5/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A deep low pressure system to the southwest of Tasmania will continue to move rapidly southwards on Monday. A weak high pressure ridge will extend across Victoria on Tuesday, before moving over Tasmania on Wednesday. On Thursday a high pressure system will be located to the south of the Bight while a low pressure trough develops near northeastern Victoria. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers in the south, contracting to the west coast during the day. Fine and mostly sunny in the north. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Fire Danger - High.Tuesday 7 FebruaryPartly cloudy with isolated showers in the south. Dry and mainly sunny in the north. Generally mild with moderate southwesterly winds, fresh at times near the coast.Wednesday 8 FebruaryFine apart from isolated morning showers near the coast. A mild and partly cloudy day with light to moderate southerly winds.Thursday 9 FebruaryIsolated showers near the coast and isolated showers and thunderstorms developing over the northeast.
