MELBOURNE - Feb 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system near New Zealand extends a ridge to New South Wales north coast. A cold front will move through the west and southeast of the state during Sunday before weakening into a trough over the northeast later on Monday. The trough is expected to deepen during Wednesday and Thursday and move westwards as another high moves south of the Bight extending a ridge along the coast. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers in the northeast. Mostly clear elsewhere. Mainly southeast to northeast winds.Sunday 5 FebruaryIsolated showers in the far southeastern inland and the chance of afternoon showers over the far northeastern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds, turning southerly in the west later.Fire Danger - Very High in the Riverina and in Upper and Lower Western districts.Monday 6 FebruaryIsolated showers in the east with the chance of thunderstorms over the northeastern inland. Partly cloudy in the west. Southwest to southeast winds extending throughout.Tuesday 7 FebruaryIsolated showers in the east tending scattered on the north coast and on adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.Wednesday 8 February Isolated showers in the east tending scattered on the north coast and ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
