Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge of high pressure south of the Bight. A trough of low pressure will extend across most of the State during the weekend. A new high will move eastwards to become established south of the Bight mid-week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine. Mild to warm and partly cloudy in the south grading to warm to hot and mostly sunny in the north. Light to moderate southeast winds and moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes easing early evening.Saturday 4 FebruaryPatchy morning fog about the southeast. Isolated showers extending eastwards, reaching southern coastal districts from late afternoon. Possible afternoon thundery showers over the Northwest Pastoral district west of Ernabella to Tarcoola. Warm to hot with moderate northeast to northwest winds ahead of a milder, fresh to strong south to southwesterly change reaching Spencer Gulf towards midnight. Possible raised dust with the change over the Northwest Pastoral district in the afternoon.Sunday 5 FebruaryAreas of morning rain over southern coasts. Otherwise, scattered showers over the southern agricultural area with isolated showers over northern agricultural and southern pastoral areas. Partly cloudy with possible showers over the Northwest Pastoral district. Cool to mild grading to warm to hot in the northeast. Fresh to strong south to southwesterly change extending throughout by midday.Monday 6 February
Isolated showers about the west coast and agricultural area clearing from the northern agricultural area in the evening. Cool to mild, grading to warm to hot in the far northeast. Moderating southwest to southerly winds.
Tuesday 7 February
Isolated showers about the west coast and agricultural area contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the far northeast. Moderate southwest to southeast winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 10 to 20 mm about southern coasts and 2 to 10 mm over the remainder of the agricultural area and West Coast district. Up to 2 mm elsewhere.
Wednesday until FridayFine apart from isolated showers about southern coasts gradually extending to the west coast and agricultural areas later in the period. Cool to mild in the south grading to mild to warm in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.kThe next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
