Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is located south of New Zealand and extends a ridge south of Tasmania. A low pressure trough will cross South Australia on Saturday ahead of a cold front which will cross Victoria on Sunday. Another cold front will enter western Bass Strait later on Monday and move into the Tasman Sea on Tuesday as a ridge extends across Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers possible near the ranges, clearing this evening. Mostly clear otherwise. Generally light winds with seabreezes in the south easing this evening.Saturday 4 FebruaryMorning fog patches in the south. Isolated showers possible about the eastern ranges during the afternoon. Otherwise a warm and mostly sunny day with generally light wind tending moderate northwesterly over the southwest and milder afternoon seabreezes about the coast.Fire Danger -  Generally High to Very High.Sunday 5 FebruaryIsolated showers developing ahead of a band of rain extending from the west and forecast to reach eastern districts by the evening. Rain tending more patchy north of the divide with only isolated showers about the coast following the rain band. Isolated thunderstorms developing near and ahead of the change. Warm and humid northerly winds freshening ahead of a cooler, fresh west to southwesterly change extending from the west during the day.Monday 6 FebruaryRain areas in the far east clearing during the early morning. Isolated showers about southwest and west Gippsland coast. Mostly sunny in the north. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 7 FebruaryPartly cloudy with isolated showers in the south. Dry and mainly sunny in the north. Generally mild with moderate southwesterly winds, fresh at times neat the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Saturday.Product IDV10310
