Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge of high pressure over the Bight. A trough of low pressure will extend across most of the State during the weekend. A new high will move eastwards to become established south of the Bight mid-week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayPatchy early morning fog about coastal districts. Partly cloudy during the morning in the south with the chance of a light shower south of a line from Port Lincoln to Keith. A fine and mostly sunny day otherwise. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast winds and moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes.Saturday 4 FebruaryCloud increasing from the west. Isolated thundery showers extending from the west, reaching southern coastal districts from late afternoon. Warm to hot with moderate northeast to northwest winds ahead of a milder, fresh to strong south to southwesterly change reaching Yorke Peninsula towards midnight.Sunday 5 FebruaryIsolated showers over agricultural and southern pastoral areas increasing to scattered showers over southern agricultural areas. Isolated early morning thundery showers clearing before afternoon and evening thunderstorms re-develop about southern coasts. Cool to mild grading to warm to hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh northerly winds in the east, ahead of a fresh to strong south to southwesterly change extending throughout by midday.Monday 6 February
Isolated showers about the west coast and agricultural area clearing from the northern agricultural area during the day. Cool to mild, grading to warm to hot in the far northeast. Moderating southwest to southerly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm about southern coasts and 2 to 5 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area and West Coast district. Up to 2 mm elsewhere.
Tuesday until ThursdayFine apart from isolated showers about parts of the west coast and southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south grading to mild to warm in the north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
