Weather Situation A high pressure system south of Adelaide will move past southern Tasmania tonight then over the southern Tasman Sea to lie southeast of New Zealand on Friday. A ridge will persist from this high across to Bass Strait on Friday then a low pressure trough will cross South Australia on Saturday ahead of a cold front which will likely cross Victoria on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers in Gippsland, contracting to the coast tonight. Moderate southeasterly winds, fresh near the coast.Thursday 2 FebruaryMorning fog patches in the south. Isolated showers over Gippsland in the morning contracting to the far east in the afternoon. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing over the northwest, mainly in the afternoon. Warm inland with generally light east to southeasterly winds, milder near the coast with fresh afternoon seabreezes.Fire Danger - Locally high.Friday 3 FebruaryMorning fog patches in the south. Isolated showers possible near and south of the ranges. A warm day with generally light wind and milder afternoon coastal seabreezes.Saturday 4 FebruaryMostly fine apart from possible isolated showers about the eastern ranges during the afternoon.
