Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 1/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1027 hPa south of the Bight will move steadily eastwards to be over the southern Tasman Sea Thursday morning. A trough of low pressure will extend across most of the State during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine apart from possible isolated showers about Kangaroo Island until early evening. Moderate to fresh south to southeast winds, strong at times about parts of the coast.Thursday 2 FebruaryFine and mostly sunny apart from the chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms developing about the eastern border north of Renmark and south of about Leigh Creek. Mild to warm near southern coasts grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate east to southeast winds and moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes.Friday 3 FebruaryFine and mostly sunny. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to southwest winds, fresh about the coasts during the afternoon.Saturday 4 FebruaryIsolated showers developing about the far west during the afternoon then extending to western and southern coastal districts during the evening. Warm to hot with moderate northeast to northwest winds ahead of a milder, fresh to strong south to southwesterly change reaching Yorke Peninsula late evening .Sunday 5 FebruaryIsolated showers extending to Coober Pedy to Renmark before contracting to coastal areas by evening, scattered at times south of Adelaide. Mild to warm grading to hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds in the east with fresh south to southwesterly winds extending throughout by early afternoon. Winds strong at times about the coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning until midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 5mm over the southern agricultural area and West Coast and 2 mm elsewhere.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers about the west coast and southern agricultural area contracting to southern coasts by Wednesday. Fine elsewhere. Mild to warm throughout with moderate southwest to southeast winds easing later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
