Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 31/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of Adelaide will move past southern Tasmania tonight then over the southern Tasman Sea to lie southeast of New Zealand on Friday. A ridge will persist from this high across to Bass Strait on Friday then a low pressure trough will cross South Australia on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers in Gippsland becoming isolated this morning before clearing tonight. Fine elsewhere apart from possible light showers near the west and central coast in the morning. A mild day, mostly sunny in the north. Moderate south to southeasterly wind, freshening near the coast in the afternoon.Fire Danger -  Moderate grading to high in the west.Thursday 2 FebruaryIsolated showers developing in the east and some northern areas, mostly in the afternoon with the risk of afternoon thunderstorms north of the divide. Warm inland with generally light east to southeasterly winds, milder near the coast with fresh afternoon seabreezes.Friday 3 FebruaryIsolated showers and the risk of thunderstorms about the ranges. A warm day with generally light wind and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Saturday 4 FebruaryFine apart from isolated afternoon showers developing on the eastern highlands.
