MELBOURNE - Jan 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A front over eastern inland parts of the State is associated with a low over western Bass Strait. The front is expected to move across remaining parts of the State today with a vigorous, milder southwest to southerly airstream extending throughout. A high pressure system to the south of Western Australia will move eastwards to be centred south of the Bight on Tuesday and over the Tasman Sea later Wednesday and on Thursday. Another front is expected to cross the State over the weekend. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral district. Isolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast, contracting to southern coasts by early afternoon. Cool to mild over the agricultural area, grading to hot in the far north of the State. Fresh to strong and gusty southwest to southerly winds extending throughout.Tuesday 31 JanuaryIsolated morning showers near southern and western coasts. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southeast winds, strengthening about parts of the coast in the afternoon.Wednesday 1 FebruaryFine apart from a possible morning shower about southern coasts. Mild near southern coasts, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southeast winds.Thursday 2 February Fine and mostly sunny. Mild to warm near southern coasts grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate east to southeast winds and moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes. Friday 3 FebruaryPossible isolated showers over the southern agricultural area on Friday, fine elsewhere. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to southwest winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 2 mm, with isolated falls of 10-20 mm with thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers developing about western and southern coastal districts later on Saturday then moving over the agricultural areas on Sunday before contracting to far southern coasts on Monday. Mild to warm, grading to hot in the north.
