Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 29/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure near a line Port Lincoln to Tarcoola at 4 pm is expected to move northeast and reach Adelaide to Coober Pedy around 4 am Monday, Leigh Creek to Oodnadatta around 10 am and out of the northeast corner of the State early Monday afternoon. A new high will move in south of the Bight on Tuesday and move east, to be over the Tasman Sea on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and thunderstorms, except for areas west of Marla to Ceduna, tending scattered with local heavy falls and possible damaging wind gusts over the Pastoral districts, the Flinders and the north of Eastern Eyre Peninsula and the Mid-North until mid evening. Showers becoming scattered in the South East district. Warm to hot with light to moderate northeast winds, fresh in the southeast, ahead of a milder, moderate to fresh southerly change developing in the west.Monday 30 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms northeast of about Ernabella to Kingscote, gradually contracting northeastwards and clearing the far northeast corner by evening. Showers tending scattered in the early morning over the South East district. Isolated morning showers over the Western Agricultural district and the south of the Northwest Pastoral. Cool about the coasts and southern ranges, grading to hot in the far northeast. Light to moderate northerly winds in the east, ahead of a fresh and gusty south to southwest change extending throughout by mid afternoon, strong at times near the coast.Tuesday 31 JanuaryIsolated morning showers near southern and western coasts. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southeast winds.Wednesday 1 February
Fine and mostly sunny. Mild near southern coasts, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southeast winds.
Thursday 2 February
Fine and mostly sunny. Mild to warm near southern coasts grading to very hot in the north. Light to moderate east to southeast winds and moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon until midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm, with local falls of 10-30 mm with thunderstorms.
Friday until SundayPossible isolated showers over the agricultural area on Friday and about southern and western coasts on Sunday. A milder, moderate to fresh southwesterly change gradually extending from the west during the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
