Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high is in the Tasman Sea with a ridge towards northern New South Wales. A Low over inland Queensland extends a trough towards South Australia. The low is moving southwards towards NSW but is slowly weakening. A deep moist east to northeast airstream continues over the state. The trough will move eastwards with a front developing within it and moving through most of NSW on Monday. On Wednesday/Thursday the next high will move into the Tasman with the trough lingering over inland NSW.
Forecast for the rest of SundayPartly cloudy in the far southeast. Early light showers along central parts of the coast clearing by midday. Rain in the north increasing and extending southwards during the day with local heavy falls over parts of northern inland. The chance of thunderstorms in the far north west. East to northeast winds, becoming fresh and gusty about the northeastern inland and along the coast.Monday 30 JanuaryRain over most of the state during the morning, widespread and heavy at times, contracting eastwards and tending to showers during the afternoon and evening. Conditions clearing in the far southwest behind a cold front. Thunderstorms likely near the front. Freshening north to northwest winds in the east. West to northwest winds in the west ahead of a cooler fresh, gusty south to southwest change in the west and south during the afternoon.Tuesday 31 JanuaryFine in the far southwest. Showers over the remainder, clearing early from the western and southern inland. Showers becoming scattered over the northeastern quarter, with afternoon thunderstorms likely over the northeastern inland. South to southeast winds tending east to northeast in the northeast.Wednesday 1 FebruaryFine and mostly sunny in the west and southwest of the state. Showers over the remainder, scattered over the northeastern quarter, and more isolated over the remainder.
