Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 27/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high centred over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge of high pressure to the south of South Australia. A weak trough of low pressure over the northeast of the state will move westwards to be positioned near southern and western coasts by later today. A front over western districts later on Sunday will pass over remaining parts by early Monday, followed by a new high developing to the southwest of the Bight on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms extending from the east to most districts except for southern coasts and western areas west of about Coober Pedy to Wudinna. Showers increasing to scattered with local heavy falls east of about Loxton to Roxby Downs to Birdsville. Warm to hot with light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds.Sunday 29 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms, except for areas west of Marla to Ceduna and over far southern coasts. Warm to hot with light to moderate northeast to northwest winds, ahead of a milder, moderate to fresh southerly change developing in the west, extending to southern coasts late evening.Monday 30 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms over most parts except the Northwest Pastoral west of Woomera, gradually contracting northeastwards to be confined to the far northeast late evening. Isolated showers, however, persisting about southern and western coastal districts. Cool near southern coasts grading to hot in the far north, with fresh and gusty southerly winds, extending throughout, strengthening near the coasts.Tuesday 31 January
Isolated light morning showers near southern and western coasts, and also the chance of morning showers in the northeast. Fine otherwise. Cool to mild near southern coasts, grading to hot in the far north.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm, increasing to 5 to 15 mm with thunderstorms, and further to possibly 20 to 40 mm over the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts south of about Marree.
Wednesday until FridayFine. Mild to warm near southern coasts, grading to hot in the far north. Mainly moderate southeast to northeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
