Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 25/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak trough of low pressure will remain near stationary over the northeast of the state for the rest of this week. A high 1024 hPa centred south of the Bight will move slowly east to be over the Tasman Sea on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine and mostly sunny apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms over the North East Pastoral district. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, strong about the coasts during the afternoon. Mild to warm near the coast, hot inland.Friday 27 JanuaryFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms east of Oodnadatta to Renmark. Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds. Warm to hot.Saturday 28 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms east of about Coober Pedy to Maitland to Naracoorte. Warm to hot with light to moderate east to southeasterly winds.Sunday 29 January
Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the North East Pastoral and Flinders districts contracting northeast and clearing. Isolated light showers possible about the Lower South East district and remaining southern coasts and ranges. Warm to hot. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds developing.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning until midnight Sunday are expected to be mostly less than 5 mm, increasing to 5 to 15 mm east of the ranges, with local falls of 20 to 40 mm possible with thunderstorms near the New South Wales or Queensland border.
Monday until WednesdayIsolated light coastal showers and the chance of showers in the northeast, clearing Monday. Fine otherwise. Moderate to locally fresh southeast to easterly winds. Generally mild to warm, hot in the far north.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
